12th Annual “Northern Michigan” South Carolina Golf Trip (2010) – Post Trip Summary

The 2010 golf trip is now in the history books.  It was a trip that we will be telling stories about for a long time.  Despite the distant travel, all eight of us made and on time!  The weather was good.  We had a few very brief showers on the first day, but they were so brief that I don’t think the sun was ever blocked by the rain clouds.  It was hot and humid (temps in the mid 80’s to low 90’s).  It was also a bit windy, with rip tides coming in on Monday from the hurricane brewing in the mid-Atlantic.

The condos were a disappointment.  The three bedroom condo was cleaned before arrival, but had a lot of wear and tear from past tenants.  The two bedroom condo was not cleaned.  The beds were not made and dirty dishes were left in the sink.  Fortunately Bob, Randy and Danny were good sports and washed their own sheets.  The cleaning crew did eventually show up on Sunday.

The golf courses were scenic, but I think the consensus was that they were not spectacular.  None of use figured out how to play out of that pesky Bermuda grass.  It was like playing on a sponge.  Also, the southern hospitality just was not there from the course rangers.  They were sarcastic pain in the !@#$!  We had a lesson learned though: Make sure we bring our anti-venom for snake bites next time.  Nobody was bit, but just in case for next time.
